Anthropic announced on Monday that its latest and best performing artificial intelligence model has just become available.

AI start-up Anthropic said in a news release on Monday that its latest model—Claude Opus 4.5—has launched. This model is better at performing everyday tasks, like deep research, and is now the “best model in the world,” for coding, agents, and computer use, the company said.

“Opus 4.5 is a step forward in what AI systems can do, and a preview of larger changes to how work gets done,” Anthropic said.

For the developer API—which allows companies to use the model in their own software—pricing is $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens.

Other tech companies have also recently announced updates to their own competing models. Alphabet launched its Gemini 3 model on Nov. 18, and OpenAI announced that it was upgrading the GPT-5 model to GPT- 5.1 on Nov. 12.

The launch of Anthropic’s latest model also comes less than a week after the start-up announced new deals with AI chip darling Nvidia and tech giant Microsoft.

Anthropic announced on Nov. 18 that Nvidia and Microsoft have committed to invest up to $10 billion and $5 billion, respectively, in Anthropic as part of a new strategic partnership. Anthropic has also committed to purchase $30 billion worth of compute capacity and contract up to one gigawatt of additional capacity from Microsoft as it scales Claude on Azures platform.
