Stocks rose Monday as investors bet on a strong end for equities in 2025 following last week’s cooler-than-expected inflation reading.

These stocks moved Monday:

Tesla climbed 1.6%. The Delaware Supreme Court on Friday overruled the Delaware Chancery Court’s 2024 decision to void CEO Elon Musk’s 2018 pay package, which included some 300 million stock options. The ruling officially restores to Musk the stock options, currently worth $138 billion.

Warner Bros. Discovery gained 3.5% to $28.75 after Paramount Skydance amended its $30-a-share, all-cash offer for the entertainment company. Paramount shareholder and Oracle founder Larry Ellison now is guaranteeing $40.4 billion of the equity financing for the bid, and any damages claims against Paramount.

Warner’s board told shareholders last week to reject Paramount’s bid, citing concerns that the Ellisons weren’t fully backstopping the financing. The board instead recommended that shareholders back Netflix’s offer of $27.75 in stock and cash for Warner’s streaming and studios assets. Paramount shares gained 4.3%, while Netflix fell 1.2%.

Clearwater Analytics jumped 8.1% to $24.06. The software fintech company said Sunday that it had agreed to an $8.4 billion take-private deal. Rocket Lab said the agreement was its largest single contract to date.

Dominion Energy declined 3.7% after the Trump administration paused the leases for all large-scale offshore wind projects under construction in the U.S. Dominion’s wind farm off the coast of Virginia Beach, Va., was one of five leases paused by the Department of the Interior. The department cited the need to assess how to mitigate national security risks, such as the potential for radar interference. In a statement, Dominion argued arguing that stopping the project would trigger energy inflation, imperil jobs, and threaten grid reliability for military installations in coastal Virginia.

UniFirst jumped 16% to $197.64 after Cintas submitted another offer to acquire the smaller uniform supplier for $275 a share or roughly $5.2 billion. Cintas, up 2.4% on Monday, has been trying to buy UniFirst since at least February 2022.
